Community Guidelines
INTEL exists to build useful, traceable public-interest intelligence. Participation should improve the record rather than merely intensify an argument.
Document before concluding
Prefer primary sources and specific evidence. Distinguish what a source proves from what you infer. Clearly label allegations, uncertainty, opinion, and unresolved questions.
Challenge claims, not people
Disagreement, criticism of public conduct, and rigorous scrutiny are allowed. Threats, targeted harassment, stalking, discriminatory abuse, intimidation, and attempts to mobilize harassment are not.
Protect sensitive information
Do not publish passwords, authentication secrets, financial-account credentials, Social Security numbers, private medical information, intimate imagery, precise private-location information, or comparable sensitive data unless publication is lawful, necessary to a legitimate public-interest investigation, and handled with appropriate minimization. Redact information that is not materially relevant.
Do not manipulate participation
Do not coordinate fake accounts, fraudulent engagement, malicious reporting, impersonation, evidence tampering, or deceptive campaigns intended to distort an investigation.
Respect investigation roles
Owners and moderators may organize discussion and enforce investigation rules but may not use moderation to falsify provenance or secretly rewrite evidence history. Platform-level rules remain controlling.
Corrections are part of the record
Good-faith errors should be corrected transparently. A correction is not an admission of bad faith; refusing to correct material known errors may result in moderation.
Enforcement
Responses may include labels, warnings, visibility limits, content removal, evidence preservation, loss of investigation privileges, account restrictions, or suspension depending on context and severity.
